LIVING WATERS

Hey dear ones, for those of you receiving this article a second time, please bear with us as we had some technical issues with the one that went out last night. Love you! KRP

THE WALL

For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.'” Zech 2:5 NKJV

God loves walls. The new Jerusalem will have walls. Walls help establish and maintain property rights, without which there can be no creation of wealth, and no freedom. If what’s mine is yours and what yours is mine then the weaker person is slave to the stronger person. Walls help protect the property rights of the weaker person. Walls protect the rights of those within the walls. Leviticus says that a house within a walled city is of more value than the house in the unwalled city. Why? The wall, the protection of property rights. The Greek word for wall is POLIS, from which we get our English word police. The purpose of the police is to be the wall that protects the property rights of all, especially the weaker people. Men and women of God are to be the policemen in the body of Christ, protecting the property rights of all within the Body.

…for you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Cor 6:20 NKJV

Since we are bought with the price of the blood of the Lamb, we are essentially God’s property. He allows us great freedom, great latitude of decision making and action, within the covenant of us being bought. Angels assist us as being part of our personal wall of protection as we cooperate and coordinate with our Master. It’s fun to see angels in action as you realize you are never, ever alone! Your most basic property is yourself.

Thus says the Lord: “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.” Jer 31:15 NKJV

One time I visited the Rwandan genocide memorial with a dear man of God. The cruelty of the vicious slaughter of hundreds of thousands of helpless people was on display there. I had personally seen and examined skulls of babies where the bayonet entered under the chin and proceeded out the top of the skull. There had recently been a shooting in the USA and he questioned me about personal ownership of guns. I said to him as I pointed to the memorial, “This massacre would have never happened if the Rwandan people had the right to keep and bear arms.” Killers, looters, rioters and other criminal mobs exploit the weak and helpless. They don’t enter the walled homes of a father or mother with a loaded 12-gauge shotgun who is ready to defend their family. No Sir!

They were a wall (Heb. CHOWMAH, to join, a wall of protection) unto us both by night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep. 1 Sam 25:16 KJV

Recently we studied the word ‘peace’ (Grk. EIRENE from EIRO, to join) where believers are told to have peace with one another, literally to become joined. What happens is when you join with other believers, giving them the greatest degree of access to yourself, and them to you, like for instance, in confessing your sins one to another, then they become a wall of protection to you and you to them. That’s the beauty of the fellowship believers are supposed to have!

Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls. Prov 25:28 NKJV

The two most powerful words in any language are ‘yes’ and ‘no.’ What you say yes to, what you agree to, and what you refuse, what you say no to, define who you are. The enemy’s whole agenda against you is to get you to weaken to the point where you no longer firmly decide what you will allow, to choose what is right. When that takes place, you are totally vulnerable to the whims of another who is stronger than you because your internal walls are broken down. This is how believers allow demons into their lives. The power of permission is the governing force in someone’s life. This is why children and the extreme old people must always be protected. In deliverance from demons perhaps the most important aspect of all is the rebuilding of the internal walls with the word of God, restoring the power of personal permission. Do you see why walls are so important?

When God values something, He puts a wall around it.  Although the word is not used, we see the essence of a wall in Genesis.

So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. Gen 3:24 NKJV

The reality of the flaming sword and the company of cherubim was to protect, to guard the access to the tree of life. We don’t see the tree of life again until Revelation where access to its fruit is restored by permission. The sword and the angels protected man from the consequences of his worst urges for had he partaken of the tree of life he would have entered into an unredeemable state, and all mankind would be lost forever. The Lord seeks to protect us even from ourselves. This is why Deuteronomy says that the purpose of the law was to keep Israel alive until Messiah came. Without the walls of the law Israel would have been wiped out in their sin, and there would have been no redemption…

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…Col 3:16 NKJV

We don’t judge the word of God by our arbitrary experiences. We judge our experiences by the rock solid testimony of Scripture. People may say, “’This guy’ was a great Christian…why did ‘this and this’ happen to him? Surely, ‘this and this’ must have been God’s will!” No. The word of God declares the will of God, not our experiences and practices. Somehow, this guy’s wall got pierced. I once talked to two missionaries about God’s protection. One ate it up, loving every word, while the other rejected it outright. Both of them missionaries, in every way similar on the outside – why two distinct reactions? I later asked Holy Spirit. He said, “She is a servant of her own heart!” Oh! Perhaps not even born again, but still on the mission field. The word of God, which she stood in judgment of, judged her.

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  Luke 10:19 NKJV

God protects His people. He gives them walls of protection through His word, through His Spirit, through their fellow saints, and if you know how to use weapons safely and properly, that is a plus as well. But no wall can protect us if we don’t first have the courage and the conviction to stand for what is right, both with ourselves, the church and our communities. Courage is found in God! Courage is found in His word, and His spirit. We must fill our reservoirs of courage daily from the fountain of living waters so that we can meet the challenges before us victoriously, and having done all, to stand. Amen? Love you!

Remember dear ones, we must be about our Father’s business…
