THE POWER OF HUMILITY

Lightbearers MinistriesUncategorized

My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. John 4:34 NKJV

Humility is an easy willingness to do the will of God. Many times we will do the will of God, but not with an easy willingness. The man who tithes with an angry attitude still tithes. Humility relates to trust. The greater the trust level, the easier it is to willingly act. Doing the will of God brings results. Doing it with an easy willingness allows the ‘exceeding abundantly above’ kind of results to come.

For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit…” Isa 57:15 NKJV

The harvest is a process. Sometimes you are reaping a harvest which is where the miracles come easy and the salvations are abundant. Everyone enjoys this part of the process. But the rest of the process is absolutely necessary to bring those end results. Someone must till the ground and sow. Very hard work! Apostles are more tillers and sowers, than reapers. Someone must protect the young shoots until they mature enough to bear fruit by pulling weeds, while feeding and watering them. Very hard work under the sweat of the sun! Humility is in embracing, caressing with joyful tenderness, your role in the process…

Humility is rarely felt. Under the anointing you may feel like you are ten feet tall and can walk through walls by crushing them. Like a dear friend said, “I can heal a fencepost today (think of Aaron’s rod that budded)!” You cannot evaluate yourself or others through feelings. When a fierce passion for God’s best is coupled with an easy willingness to flow with what God is giving you at that moment, then you are best positioned for success, with success being the will of God accomplished, your point in the process done well…

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 1 Cor 3:6 NKJV

Humility allows the gifts of the Spirit to flow most effective by marginalizing the desire for ‘results,’ and keeping one in the moment, not dwelling on how things will look at testimonial time or in a letter to the supporters. God will give the increase! The truly humble one need not worry about how things will appear to others.

…love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you… Matt 5:44 NKJV

Humility flows with wisdom. In fact, the two are inseparable. Where you find the one, you will surely find the other. This is why you always seek advice from a humble one. Proud ones will lead you down a path of destruction. I know of a man, really two men, who destroyed a whole ministry, affecting thousands of lives, through their pride. Wounds must be responded to with humility, not with a desire for revenge or the crushing of others in return. God will fight for you! An easy willingness to do the will of God is the best response to the mayhem of the enemy…

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Rom 12:21 NKJV

Humility requires maturity which is not measured in linear years but in vertical spiritual growth.

Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matt 18:4 NKJV

There are five levels of spiritual growth. The manifestation of humility is an indicator of spiritual growth. Most born again ones it would seem are spiritual babes. They are self-willed, self-centered and constantly in need of attention, just like a physical baby. But when babes start to turn their eyes to God, to know Him as Father, then they start to humble themselves and grow. Indeed, humility is necessary for spiritual growth at any level. An unwillingness to learn and improve, even in areas where you are ‘expert,’ indicates that your car is broken down on the side of the road to spiritual maturity. An easy willingness to be submitted to learn builds our picture of humility.

By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life. Prov 22:4 NKJV

The devil loves to paint wealthy people as being wicked, to inspire class envy which is a form of hatred. But a study of God’s Word indicates that just the opposite can be true. The devil teaches that wealth is always gotten by illegitimate or immoral means. But the Bible clearly says that wealth can come from God, and that wealthy people are to be good stewards of what they have. To whom much is given, much is required. Humility, an easy willingness to do the will of God, and the fear of the Lord position us for abundant blessings, including real physical wealth.

Wealthy people, stop feeling guilty! That oppression is from hell. Rebuke it in Jesus’ name! Envy and guilt are arsenic in the soul. Love your neighbor as yourself, and walk as the Lord leads you, with profound wisdom.

Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares…Turn at my rebuke! Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you! Prov 1:20,23NKJV

Humility finds the will of God. The will of God stares us in the face but pride blinds us from seeing it. Humility breaks through the veil. Humility empowers us with courage and a fierce determination to accomplish what is right. Humility stands on the right side of history, which in my mind includes the shining example of the slain civil rights leader, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Google him, dear ones. We all need heroes, and he is a worthy one…

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Prov 16:18-19 NKJV

Humility protects us from evil. Humility must be cultivated, along with wisdom and love. David said by the Spirit, I humbled myself through fasting. I declare this over myself each time I fast, and I will tell you, the hammer breaks the rocks! Ask the Lord to take out of you every great rock that opposes the will of God. Cultivate an easy willingness to do the will of God as you clearly perceive it. The power of humility through the blood of the Lamb will cause you to be greatly blessed!

Remember dear ones, we must be about our Father’s business
