Have you ever noticed in traditional Christianity that Christmas and Easter have ‘preseasons’ but Pentecost has no ‘preseason?’ Christmas is preceded by the four weeks of ‘Advent’ and Easter is preceded by the ‘Lenten’ season, starting at ‘Ash Wednesday,’ but Pentecost has no preseason – not even spring training games! Pentecost is hardly ever mentioned. Why is that? I believe it is because we have gotten to the Cross but never to the Throne in Christian theology. We’ve gotten to Romans but not to Ephesians. Romans gets you saved but Ephesians takes you to the Throne at the right hand of the Almighty. We as a Church have never walked in the power and authority of being seated at the right hand of the Father because we’ve stopped at the Cross, and basically gone backwards into a sacrificial OT mindset, even ignoring Romans, rather than walking forward into authority and power. Pentecost opens the door to the Throne with its authority, power and blessing. Don’t camp at the Cross, dear one, journey on to the Throne!

THE PNEUMA INSTITUTE

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5-6 NKJV

The word of wisdom is on the personal level the problem-solving anointing. On the macro level, whether dealing with families, cities or nations, or the whole world, it is the genius anointing. If we can take truly gifted people and then train them in the gifts of the Spirit, then we can bring God’s solutions to some of the great problems of man. Thus is the concept behind the idea of what will become THE PNEUMA INSTITUTE. Do you see it?

I’ve identified so far in my study of the Word nine dear believers who walked in the genius anointing: Joseph, Bezalel, Solomon, David, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah and Elisha.

Bezalel might be the least known on that list, but he was the extraordinary man who led a group of extraordinary workers in designing and creating the Ark and its tools and furnitures. I have only ever met two men with what I call the Bezalel anointing but they are both brilliant, one in woodworking and the other in metalwork.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 3 And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, 4 to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, 5 in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.  “And I, indeed I, have appointed with him Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and I have put wisdom in the hearts of all the gifted artisans, that they may make all that I have commanded you: 7 the tabernacle of meeting, the ark of the Testimony and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furniture of the tabernacle —  8 the table and its utensils, the pure gold lampstand with all its utensils, the altar of incense, 9 the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the laver and its base —  10 the garments of ministry, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to minister as priests, 11 and the anointing oil and sweet incense for the holy place. According to all that I have commanded you they shall do.” Ex 31:1-11 NKJV

When the Lord anointed Bezalel then answers began to flow out of him like water, and the ability to implement and create the physical objects flowed out of his team. Today the cities of the world are jammed with traffic. Imagine how a team with the Bezalel anointing of the word of wisdom could create new forms of transportation here on earth that solve the traffic problem and preserve the personal freedom of movement that car ownership brings! Even space travel could become routine, with as-yet-unconceived means of propulsion and life support being developed, because we have been given authority over the physical universe!

Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” 13 So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped… Josh 10:12-13 NKJV

Daniel and his fellows have been the real inspirations for THE PNEUMA INSTITUTE as a training platform for top professional candidates in every area of science, and culture. Look at what it says about them…

In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand…

What starts out as a judgment on Israel will turn to being a powerful testimony of the ability of believers to rise above that judgment and prosper despite all the negative circumstances…

3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, 4 young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans. Dan 1:1-5 NKJV

First, we see that they were already talented, as were Bezalel’s artisans. Today we would call these men college graduates, young people who were just maturing into their mental and physical fullness. The king wanted talent! These men were taken from Israel as slaves and were marched into what we call modern day Iraq. Since they were given into the hand of the master of eunuchs, they probably were made eunuchs. There is no record of Daniel or his companions ever being given wives, even after they were promoted to the highest positions in the realm. They were slaves, they were physically castrated and mutilated, with untold suffering, and yet they stood for YAHWEH and were anointed with the genius anointing…

As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

When I went to Rwanda in ’98 to do a reconciliation conference between the Hutus and Tutsis, the Lord gave me understanding of 150 years of Rwandan/Belgian Congo history so that I understood how to minister to them and to bring in the blessing of God. Then He showed me facts to back up the revelation I was given. Lake would have this happen to him, and he would have a researcher go and discover the confirmation of the facts the Lord had showed him by revelation. This is what happened, to a far greater degree, to Daniel and his buddies.

Now at the end of the days, when the king had said that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they served before the king. 20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm. Dan 1:17-21 NKJV

Imagine that! These men, humiliated, brutalized, captured as slaves and hauled hundreds of miles from their homes, and yet God anointed them, promoted them over the whole kingdom, and turned a mighty gentile king into a believer in YAHWEH. What a testimony! Some day you are going to meet old Neb…in Heaven.

And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever:

For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom is from generation to generation. 35 All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, “What have You done?” … Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down. Dan 4:34-37 NKJV

When I teach on the genius anointing, I often mention two modern men: George Washington Carver and Brother Andrew. Dr Carver asked the Lord for revelation about the humble peanut and transformed the lives of thousands of poor farmers. Brother Andrew smuggled Bibles into the old Soviet Union, strengthening the believers there, and ultimately smuggled over a million Bibles into Communist China, helping the Chinese to become the most vibrant Church on earth. His prayer, “Lord, You made blind eyes to see, now make seeing eyes blind!” was genius…

Finally we need to look at Elisha. Elisha walked in the problem-solving aspect of the word of wisdom as well as the genius aspect. His ministry saved untold numbers of lives from the horrors of war…

And Elisha returned to Gilgal, and there was a famine in the land. Now the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.” 39 So one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, though they did not know what they were.  40 Then they served it to the men to eat. Now it happened, as they were eating the stew, that they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.  So he said, “Then bring some flour.” And he put it into the pot, and said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot. 2 Kings 4:38-41 NKJV

I know dear ones who have gone through famine. One brother had nothing for his family of eight to eat so he said, jokingly, “We will have a family fast!” It was no fast; they were starving and we helped them. Elisha has a situation where food has been rendered inedible, and the Lord shows him how to make it edible again. Problem solved!

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ Matt 4:4 NKJV

Sometimes people act as if miracles are totally unusual. I’ve heard people say, I’ve heard from God three times in my life. You should hear from Him daily! Isn’t that what is implied in Matthew 4:4? Miracles should be common in our lives as well. We serve a living God who dwells in us and works in us. Miracles should fall like rain, and they do! Find the level of prayer that you need to see the rivers of God full in your life and make the daily sacrifice of prayer and worship, and they will come. End of sermon!

Now see Elisha walk in the genius anointing…

8 Now the king of Syria was making war against Israel; and he consulted with his servants, saying, “My camp will be in such and such a place.” 9 And the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, “Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are coming down there.” 10 Then the king of Israel sent someone to the place of which the man of God had told him. Thus he warned him, and he was watchful there, not just once or twice.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could train some military people and some politicians really in the depth of the gifts of the Spirit, and they were then able to get this level of revelation? I’m telling you, the potential of good that could be accomplished is limitless!

11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, “Will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?” 12 And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

Haha! Love it! A major problem for the Institute, in developing it as a concept and bringing it to fruition, is in finding teachers who can think this big, and believe for revelation like this so that they can train others. People say, ‘Yes,but…’ A ‘yes, but…’ is really a ‘no.’ Let’s believe that the Bible is not a myth, but real truth with real stories that actually happened, and that God can do it again!

13 So he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him.” And it was told him, saying, “Surely he is in Dothan.” 14 Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. 15 And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”

Dramatic situation! The army comes, essentially demanding the surrender of Elisha. The king wants him alive, so they don’t just slaughter the whole town. Elisha is not anxious at all. His rivers are full of water. He has ALREADY heard from God and knows exactly how to handle the situation. Now, he needs his servant to have his head on straight, so he ministers to him. Wow!

16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Angels are sent when you and I go into the danger zone. While outreaching in San Francisco, one of the most dangerous and wicked cities in the world, with Carl, I sensed the angelic presence around us like armed guards, and I was totally at peace.

18 So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

This wasn’t total blindness. This was blindness like what Brother Andrew prayed. They just couldn’t recognize what was going on around them. This happens a bunch of times in the Word, especially when enemy armies start fighting each other, a confusion like blindness. Elisha takes advantage of their blindness to save their lives – the Lord could have just killed them all – and many others.

19 Now Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” But he led them to Samaria. 20 So it was, when they had come to Samaria, that Elisha said, “Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and there they were, inside Samaria!

You hear people talk about ‘the fog of war.’ This was a true fog of war situation initiated by the Spirit of God as He led Elisha to lead them by the word of wisdom and the gift of faith. Amazing!

21 Now when the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha, “My father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?” 22 But he answered, “You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set food and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master.”

In the Ten Commandments when it says ‘thou shalt not kill’ it means ‘thou shalt not murder.’ This would have been genocidal murder and would have rightfully enflamed Israels enemies. Elisha was a peacemaker. He rebukes the king and sets Israel up for a great blessing. Romans teaches, if your enemy hungers, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him drink. Be not overcome of evil but overcome evil with good. True mercy is always a demonstration of strength!

23 Then he prepared a great feast for them; and after they ate and drank, he sent them away and they went to their master. So the bands of Syrian raiders came no more into the land of Israel. 2 Kings 6:8-23 NKJV

Read that again! Some scholars believe this led to eighty years of peace in Israel. Imagine! Eighty years, two generations, no destruction, no death and suffering from war, for two generations, literally thousands of lives saved by one man walking in the genius anointing! In the last eighty years, America has been in World War Two, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Gulf Wars One and Two, the war on terror and the Cold War, plus proxy wars in Ukraine and the Near East, and God knows wherever else which has cost countless lives, trillions of dollars, and untold suffering throughout the USA and the world. I think we need the genius anointing!

The PNEUMA INSTITUTE is a concept that has legs, but it needs feet and hands. Our vision is for a for-profit online school that trains top professionals in biblical ethics and the gifts of the Spirit, focusing the gifts on their specialty talents. The classes would cost thousands of dollars. It would be a separate entity from Lightbearers Ministries. We need organizational and administrative help and startup money.
