SUPERNATURAL PROVISION

Give us this day our daily bread. Matt 6:11 NKJV

It’s a gamechanger, and not in a positive sense, when middle class people in developing nations are starving. The United Nations predicted that perhaps 130 million people would starve as a result of the wicked government lockdowns in response to the Chinese Wuhan virus pandemic, and I’m seeing it with my own eyes. When people with jobs and homes are starving then you can imagine what is happening with the real underclass in those countries. Lightbearers is doing what it can to make a difference, but the truth is that we need supernatural provision.

A team member and myself are working our way through the gifts and fruit of the Spirit, taking two weeks to meditate on a gift and a fruit as a pair. We have started with love and the gift of the word of wisdom, recording our insights. Both love and the word of wisdom are gamechangers in a positive sense, in that they bring solutions to life’s problems in a most fundamental and practical way. They turn spiritual potential into practical reality.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5-6 NKJV

Let’s review some of the principles of the word of wisdom then build our appreciation of how it works practically. In nature you will discover that toxins and antitoxins exist side by side in many categories. Where there is a poison, you will find an antidote if you know where to look. It is the same truth with needs in your life – where there is a problem, there are godly solutions waiting to be revealed. A failure to understand these principles has caused some to question the integrity of God.

Wisdom is how to get things done, how to bring in the promises of God.

The children of Israel lived for forty years by supernatural provision. They weren’t even what you and I would call believers in any real sense, but they had a heroic, believing leader, and God had claimed them as His own. As long as Moses lead them, he kept them close to the Lord, and God’s favor was poured out in supernatural provision. The manna fell!

Then the men of the city said to Elisha, “Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.”

After air to breathe, water is the most fundamental thing that your body needs to survive. You can exist for weeks without food, but only for a matter of hours without water, especially in dry environments. The water was there but it was poisonous. But the Lord had the antidote on hand, and He showed it to Elisha by revelation, specifically the word of wisdom.

And he said, “Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.'” So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke. 2 Kings 2:19-22 NKJV

Elisha’s ministry in the word of wisdom brought a life-giving water source to that village, and I would not be surprised if that spring still exists today.

And Elisha returned to Gilgal, and there was a famine in the land. Now the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.” So one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, though they did not know what they were.  Then they served it to the men to eat. Now it happened, as they were eating the stew, that they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it. So he said, “Then bring some flour.” And he put it into the pot, and said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot. 2 Kings 4:38-41 NKJV

Wild gourds – toxin, flour – antitoxin. Do you see it? How did he know to put the flour in the pot? Word of wisdom. He didn’t even test it! The word of wisdom releases the gift of faith which results in a miracle. Supernatural provision!

Want some more?

Then a man came from Baal Shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain in his knapsack. And he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat.” But his servant said, “What? Shall I set this before one hundred men?” He said again, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the Lord: ‘They shall eat and have some left over.'” So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord. 2 Kings 4:42-44 NKJV

Supernatural provision is there as a safety net for God’s people. It does not replace hard work, sowing and reaping, faithful stewardship, tithing and all the other principles of prosperity and blessing. But when unforeseen circumstances turn everything on its head then the Lord is there with supernatural provision because NOTHING is UNFORESEEN to Him. The provision is right there in front of you when He gives you eyes to see.

So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:16-17 NKJV

Now, I’ve shown you supernatural provision from the example of Elisha. But truly I could have taken the examples of innumerable men and women of God, or taught it from the Gospels, the Psalms, or nearly every book in the Bible. The examples are there, and the doctrine is clear. But the question is this – how do I manifest it in my own life?

The answer lies in learning to hear the Lord’s voice, learning to perceive revelation. Some of us pray and pray, and never listen. I was guilty of that sin, so much so that the Lord had to correct me several times. There is nothing more valuable then learning to hear His voice, then learning to hear it under duress. Like any skill, you have to practice it continually to stay sharp and to grow. Speaking in tongues much will be a BIG HELP in enabling you to hear revelation clearly.

There is always provision because our Father would not have it any other way. Love you!

Remember dear ones, we must be about our Father’s business…
