You are of God, little children (Grk. TEKNON), and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 NKJV

Authority begins to get trained into us at the TEKNON level, the level where the child of God discerns Jesus as Lord of all, including his life and everything about it, and how he, the child of God relates to the world.

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Gen 1:28 NKJV

Suppose man had never sinned! What would happen when these immortal men and women filled the earth? Then, it would be ‘on to Mars’! Slowly, with genius technology given by the Creator, man would colonize the universe with men and women who loved, worshipped, served and enjoyed sweet fellowship with their Creator Yahweh, Yeshua, and the Ruach Kodesh. One time Dr. Jack told me that one day he and I would be sent to the remote areas of the universe to preach the gospel. I didn’t ask him to elaborate; I just filed that one away. He saw things that I hadn’t seen yet!

Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. Gen 2:19-20 NKJV

Adam was a man of extraordinary, supernatural abilities. One reason we speculate that A&E didn’t get created on a Tuesday and fall the following Thursday, that they may have lived for thirty or more years in Eden, is because of the physical time it would take to bring to Adam and to name the millions of species of creatures that were formed on the earth, plus while he was performing his duties of tending to and protecting the garden, and having a wife. He had to have the brain power to remember each name and to catalogue each species accurately. For instance, the ancient genus name for a cow is a BOVIS, giving us the word bovine, literally meaning ‘stomach.’ Cows have seven stomachs, so it’s a perfect name for a cow. Adam had to have the ability and the time to do everything Genesis chapter two says he did.

Adam had to have apex access to seven (he didn’t need to speak in tongues because he could talk with the Lord directly without sin obscuring his vision) of the gifts of the Spirit including the genius anointing in the word of wisdom. George Otis, from his study of the studies of gifted exceptional human beings and the evidence in scripture concluded that Adam could possibly have had the ability to command a virtually unlimited and flawless memory; communicate with other species; perform instant and accurate analyses; process external stimuli through all or most of his senses simultaneously; manipulate external objects with his mind; ‘see’ remote places and events mentally; transfer his thoughts into other minds without verbalizing them, and instantly teleport himself to other locations.*

…because as He is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17 NKJV

What happened to Adam’s great powers? Can they be recovered? I submit that 1 John says it is so. “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” As He is, so are we. As Yeshua HaMashiach is today, seated at the right hand of the Father, so are we in anointing, glory and power, if we are willing to pay the price to overcome the unbelief in our souls and in the atmosphere around us.

But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. 1 John 2:5 NKJV

Now in a previous article we saw that if we kept the Word, the love of God would be perfected in us, the first of three great promises we see in 1 John (what a wonderful promise)! Now the next two promises deal with our authority.

Beloved, now we are children (Grk. TEKNON) of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 3:3 NKJV

As a PAIDION, a young child spiritually, I left my parents’ home in California, in the San Francisco Bay area as a seventeen-year-old man to join a one-year evangelism program in Ohio. As a PAIDION, you learn to know God as Father, and that you are in a family. God as Father supplies all of your needs. I left home with $150 in my pocket in traveler’s checks which was supposed to be used to enter the evangelism program, but by the time I got to Ohio, my money was gone. It was a week before the training program began. A friend of mine and I got a temporary job tearing apart a farmer’s silo that had been destroyed in a tornado. At the end of the week, as the training began, I was paid $150, just exactly what I needed. God my Father had supplied the need of His PAIDION! This set the pattern for my life as far as ‘needs’ go. Then in the program that next year I began to learn to be a TEKNON…

At the TEKNON level we begin to perceive Him as Lord. He is the final arbiter of our decisions. He is bringing us up, growing us up from within, so that we can perceive Him as King and perceive ourselves as kings under Him. He builds His character into us. Character before power, character before authority, or else power and authority become corrupt. Adam had the nature of holiness in his spirit as he was created (‘…in our image…Gen. 1:26). Then he had a command that would preserve that holy nature had he followed it. But all that was lost in Adam was recovered for us In Christ with this far greater assurance – that what he had conditionally we have by covenant. We may lose its practical efficacy, but we cannot lose its reality.

How do you walk in that kind of authority? It’s one thing to say, ‘He who is in you is greater’ and another thing to walk in it. There is a reality that says we grow into our authority, where potential becomes kinetic, where head becomes heart. In the first great promise we see that keeping, guarding, preserving God’s written and the RHEMA word He has spoken to us will allow the love of God to be perfected in us. This is the basis of our authority and its practical application. Love never fails. Think about that! Love never fails! Love energizes faith. The most effective strategy for every situation is seeking the absolute best for all in all circumstances.

My heart’s desire is to train young people because the young ones still have the passion and the freedom in commitments like I had as the young man going to Ohio. The Lord is using us to train the young ones. Over twelve hundred students in Kenya are graduating from our six-month schools this month! They’ve all been filled with the Spirit, speaking in tongues, and are trained in the rudiments of being led with power. Our work here in the USA with New Ground Ministries has a growing number of young people involved, and we are so thankful! Restoring Eden is an accomplished reality for each one of us through the Lord Yeshua. The challenge now is to pay the price and rise up to it. At every level that I’ve grown up in my prayer walk signs and wonders have increased and abounded. Yeshua’s secret of power was His prayer life, as I’m sure it was for Adam in those many years that he did walk with God in the cool of the Garden. Remember the old hymn?

I come to the garden alone / while the dew is still on the roses / and the Voice I hear / falling on my ear / the Son of God discloses / and He walks with me and He talks with me / and He tells I am His own / and the joy we share / as we tarry there / none other has ever known.
