The reason why American Christian Bible colleges and universities are being destroyed by the LGBTQ agenda is that they have turned from the understanding of the integrity of the Bible. When you degrade the word of God to being just the words of men, to being fallible just like every other book is fallible, to being open to interpretation as one sees fit, then your foundation is gone and your house is crumbling.

The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Ps 12:6 NKJV

To a great degree we have brought this upon ourselves. One opinion piece that I read recently said that Christianity is not based on the Bible, but rather on Jesus. When I read that I almost choked on my coffee and spit it out! How, pray tell, do we know about Jesus other than through what the Bible tells us? Corinthians tells us that ‘extra-biblical Jesus’s’ are a counterfeit from hell. We know the Son of God by knowing the Word of God…only. If that’s not true, then you have no standard by which to judge truth and error, or to discern ‘another Jesus’ from the real One.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 NKJV

We have brought this upon ourselves because we have not read accurately what the Bible does say. People, the Bible does not say the world was created in six days! God created the heavens and the earth in Genesis 1:1. There is no reckoning of time until verse five – twenty four hours, ‘the first day.’ You can have eons of time between verse one and verse two, and verse two and verses three and four. This ‘10,000 year old earth’ foolishness is just that! We read through the lenses of our religious prejudices rather than simply reading what it says, and thinking about what it says.

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up… Gen 7:11 NKJV

The Bible is not a book of science, but when it speaks scientifically, it is accurate. I watched a National Geographic special about the creation of life on earth that had more holes than your mother’s colander. Dear ones, it’s a biological axiom – life springs from life. Think that one through! In 2014, scientists discovered that there is water, under the earths mantle, more than four times the amount of water in all the oceans. This is ‘the great deep’ from which the fountains were broken up. Of course, Moses, the great scientist, wrote about that in Genesis chapter seven. No! Moses, the man of God, heard from God and wrote the great seventh chapter of Genesis.

…for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21 NKJV

Another self-inflicted wound is that we value the words of Jesus over the words of other New Testament writers, especially Paul. No! It’s either all God’s Word, or none of it can be trusted to be God’s Word. The Holy Spirit is the Author of all of God’s Word, from Genesis to Revelation, or else it is not God’s Word. The Word of God in its original state, is perfect. Apparent contradictions lie either in our understanding, or in translation.

Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ…Eph 6:5-6 NKJV

One apparent contradiction that threw me for a while was that the Bible appeared to endorse slavery. When I thought about it, I was troubled. This God of love and justice could endorse the involuntary servitude of one man to another (sounds like the American taxpayer)? Then I studied it from the Word of God.

…when I thought how to understand this, It was too painful for me — until I went into the sanctuary of God; Then I understood their end. Ps 73:16-17 NKJV

What I learned is that the Word of God speaks to three classes of slaves: Hebrew slaves to Hebrew masters, Gentile slaves to Hebrew masters, and born-again Gentile slaves to Gentile masters, born again or otherwise. A fourth class would be the children of Israel in Egypt, or in Babylon (even there as slaves they were told to pray for the peace of their city) but the Bible really does not address the moral issue there involved like it does with the other three. God just set them free at a heavy cost to Egypt (and, to a degree, Babylon).

Hebrew slaves generally were Hebrews trying to pay off a debt, like Jacob paying off the bride price of Rachel. It was only for a period of seven years, max. There is mercy in allowing people to work off debts. The Gentile servants of Hebrew masters was an act of mercy because the children of Israel were supposed to wipe them out, not take them as slaves. Being alive as a slave in a Hebrew household, where you might even get saved, is better than being dead, and going to hell.

Finally, the born-again Gentile servants of Gentile masters is because of the prevailing laws of the Gentile nations. In Ephesians six and other places God is not endorsing slavery, but rather teaching the born-again Gentile slaves how to walk godly in their present circumstances because of the laws of the land. Ideally, the laws get changed and the slaves get freed, like what happened in America. The Word of God also addresses how born-again masters are to treat their slaves, both born again and otherwise. Again, not endorsing the institution of slavery but saying, “This is how you are to live under the present circumstances.”

Do you see it? In all three classes the Lord showed mercy to the people involved. The Lord was vindicated and the Bible is untainted by contradiction or scandal.

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also…John 14:12 NKJV

Another great reason the Bible is disparaged is because most of us can’t demonstrate the reality of the risen Christ. In other words…no signs and wonders. Lightbearers is trying to change that reality. We have a prophecy spoken over us saying that we are to ‘break the vase of oil that needs to come out of Lightbearers to bless the whole world.’ That’s a much bigger vision than I ever conceived of twenty-five years ago. But God gives God-sized visions not because He wants you to do it, but because He wants you to rest and let Him do it through you.

When you speak in tongues you are demonstrating the reality of the risen Christ because unsaved ones can’t speak in tongues. They can do weird things but they cannot speak in tongues as the Bible defines it. When you speak in tongues you are speaking a language you have not been taught, a reality which breaks the law of learning, making it a miracle.

A young Ugandan woman spoke in a language she did not know for the first time and said these words, as translated from that language to English, “I AM the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Israel. I have come into your midst to do great things. I am pouring out My spirit upon you all.”

You see, without that kind of demonstration the Christians are like a one legged man trying to run a race. Things generally just don’t turn out well in those circumstances! Thus, we have situations like we see on Bible College campuses, in churches and other places, where we cave in to the onslaught of the enemy.

Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 2 Tim 2:19 NKJV

Years ago we had a house in Palmdale where great cracks began to show up in our walls. We had to rebuild the foundation of the whole house.
