Perception And Deception

Lightbearers MinistriesUncategorized

Dear One,

The Lord bless you!

I have seen the wicked in great power and spreading himself like a native green tree. 36 Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found. Ps 37:35-36 NKJV

We must always consider the unique aspects of society, government and the Church. SOCIETY is all of us coming together to improve the lives of all. SOCIETY is to bring blessings to all within society. GOVERNMENT arises out of society to recognize and restrain the evil that is in the hearts of all of us. That is its sole and only legitimate function. Thus, government has police, military, diplomats, judges, courts, jails and prisons, and all under the rule of law set by members of society, and their elected representatives. The CHURCH, by the spirit of God and the word of God, is to be the spiritual backbone of both government and society. We do this by speaking the truth to both in love, honesty and purity, and through prayer and intercession. Think of the ministry of Charlie Kirk, or even Billy Graham. The word spoken in this manner will produce conviction in the hearts of all, and either bring them back to sanity or cause them to go off the deep end, which is where the function of government comes in again. Consider what Psalms says! When the Church does its job in both society and government, this is what will happen. God will move to remove evil and bring the blessings to all in society. When we do our part, He will do His part.

PERCEPTION AND DECEPTION

Speaking in tongues in love is a PERFECT act.

One of the great personal discoveries for me has been to understand how much time I must sacrifice in prayer to truly walk in the will of God, not just on the margins but in the chewy caramel center. Discovering that and doing it will change your life! Think of it. Praying in tongues in love is a PERFECT act of both soul and spirit – perhaps the only perfect, flawless, absolutely no impurity or weakness, thing you can do in your life. And you can do it freely!

46 And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. Luke 1:46-47

Early in my theological training I was taught that soul and spirit were the same thing; that this usage in Luke was a poetic parallelism. This is why you must keep learning, keep growing, even in areas of the Word that you think you have it all figured out, and you must expose yourself to some degree to all legitimate thoughts on the subject, not just those that agree with your religious biases. It was Papa Hagin who first taught me that man was spirit, soul and body, and that I must differentiate between the three aspects. This led to a fuller understanding of salvation and reconciled many previously difficult scriptures. To put the whole subject together briefly you must understand that the spirit is saved by grace, made whole, at the time of the new birth, the soul is saved by works across the process of the believers life and even into eternity (there will be school in Heaven), and the body is saved, made whole, at the transformation at the rapture or the resurrection of the dead in Christ. Simple, isn’t it? And it’s all because we understand that every person has a spirit, a soul and a body.

Now how does this relate to perception and deception?

Lake tells the story of driving with his family up a mountain road, with the opposite side against the mountain and his side with a cliff. Presently, HS tells him to pull over on the other side of the road. Normally you would pull over on your side of the road, but he knows he is to pull over on the other side. Immediately a big truck pulling a long trailer comes down the road, and the trailer is swinging out of control! If Lake had continued driving, or pulled over on his side, his car and he and his family would have been swept off the cliff. That’s spiritual perception!

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.  16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever —   17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.  18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. John 14:15-18 NKJV

23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. John 14:23-24 NKJV

…which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Col 1:27-28 NKJV

Where does God dwell in you? This is important to understand because you have two great reference points to gain information, knowledge and understanding – your soul and your spirit. One is carnal and the other is spiritual. The Father and the Son through the Holy Spirit dwell in your spirit. When you pray in tongues, your spirit is praying as it is enabled by the Holy Spirit. One time when we were leading about three hundred Anglicans into tongues, a young village girl began to pray in tongues, and one of my teammates understood the language. She said in tongues, “I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Israel. I have come into your midst to do great things. I am pouring out My spirit upon you all.” Indeed, all over that great room, that is exactly what was happening. The Godhead dwells in your spirit. When you become aware of what God is doing in your spirit, you are spiritually minded. Your continual awareness of His presence in your spirit enables you to develop acute spiritual perception.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Rom 8:5-7 NKJV

Have you ever had this internal argument – your mind says something is RIGHT, but your heart says something is WRONG? Your mind says it is ok, and you want it so bad! But somewhere in there, something is saying, ‘no,no,no!’ How did that turn out? Your mind perceives what comes to it through the five senses, but your heart, your spirit perceives what comes to it through God’s Spirit. I tell the story of walking through the Amsterdam airport and seeing racks of magazines of scantily clad women, and my eyes drift in that direction. Then Jesus speaks in my spirit and says, “Don’t embarrass Me, son!” Eyes straight! My mind said that it was right, but my heart said that it was wrong.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, (and) soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thess 5:23 NKJV

Deception can come in when your soul is ascendent. Each of your three parts seeks to oversee your life. You set your alarm for five am so that you can pray and read the Word before work, but your body wants to keep sleeping. If your body wins, you miss your crucial meeting with God, and all the attendant blessings and revelation. Your soul is open to deception through fear or selfishness – lust, greed, jealousy, etc. Deception working through fear deceived a great man of God into giving almost a half million dollars to criminals. This is witchcraft. YOU MUST NOT MAKE DECISIONS OUT OF FEAR. You only decide when you have had time to hear the voice of your spirit speaking by the Holy Spirit.

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. Mark 1:35 NKJV

I got to visit the home of the great American WW1 soldier Alvin York in Tennessee. His testimony spoke to the greatness of hearing God in your spirit in a crisis. It was 1917, and York was called up for the Army draft as America had entered the First World War. York took three days to seek God, to hear His voice. He had two questions to bring to ABBA – One, was the war just? And two, would he come home to his mother alive? After three days of prayer, God spoke to His son and said, “The war is just, and you will come home to your mother alive.” Armed with that RHEMA word, Alvin York went to war. His battlefield exploits are the stuff of legend with biblical precedent – think Jonathan and his armorbearer taking on a garrison of the Philistines – that was York. He received the highest honors of America, France and Italy, and he came home to his mother. I always counsel anyone in a crisis to take three days and go hear from God before you do anything. I was encouraged recently that one of my spiritual sons reported to me that he and his fiancé both took five days to seek God and hear His voice before committing themselves to marry each other. That young man has learned a few things!

Be still, and know that I am God; Ps 46:10 NKJV

Let me say one practical thing about hearing from God, and it relates to our subject of perception and deception. When God speaks, He is clear, specific, and the word imparts faith. When you ask God something, many times your soul will try to imitate the HS with a vague, faithless word like, ‘It will all work out,’ or ‘it will be ok!’ You can have an inner knowingness that everything will work out well, but that inner knowingness imparts faith that quenches doubt and releases sublime confidence. The weaselly words of your soul release no confidence and only seek to make God look bad later. Reject them…and wait on God!

“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it.  22 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.  23 But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand. Mark 13:21-23 NKJV

There is great deception in the world now and greater deception is coming. I listened for a few minutes to a thread that was sent to me of Pastor Yonggi Cho speaking about tongues, only to find it was all AI generated. Your faith will be tested on scales that are unprecedented. This is why you must heed to the word of God and the spirit of God, not out of fear but out of courage and strength to stand for Him, and lead others to Him. We are lightbearers and those who seek the light of God will come to us, and we will take them to Him. The darker the night, the brighter the stars shine! Our best days are before us, and then there is eternity in Heaven with Jesus and each other. Amen? Love you!

Remember dear ones, we must be about our Father’s business
