LIVING WATERS

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Col 3:15 NKJV

The peace of God is the confidence of God in any situation. Actually, confidence may be an understatement. The Lord does not get rattled by anything, period. Nothing shakes Him, confuses Him or leaves Him in doubt. When you have perfect knowledge of everything, plus perfect power to execute your will in everything, if you are the Creator and therefore master of all that there is, and you are without guile or even the hint, scent or stain of evil – you have the moral highest ground, as well as the power and knowledge highest ground – then perfect confidence, even perfect peace is your normal and unwavering state of being.

Now, He still has love and passion – the story of creation and the story of redemption and the story of you are the great illustrations of His love and passion! But the problem is that we have always associated love and passion with anxiety and fear. ‘If you’re not worried about your kids, you don’t love them’ is what we have been taught. ‘If you don’t worry, if you’re not afraid…you don’t love.’ This is a human perspective of limited knowledge, power and morality. Whatever standing that thought may have, you cannot transfer that perspective to God. His L&P is pure and unadulterated. Watch a five-year-old at play on a sunny day and you may observe a little bit of the love and passion of the Father!

The Greek word for peace is EIRENE, and I learned that a word closely associated with it, perhaps a root word, is the verb EIRO, meaning ‘to join.’ When I saw that, understanding leapt in my heart! To have the peace of God I have to be joined with Him. When you are joined with someone, there is unlimited access flowing between the two. In fact you can measure the degree of joining by the degree of access. Think of Adam and Eve. They had unlimited access to God and the garden until sin broke their ‘joining,’ their relationship. Think of a Christian marriage, where the two become one, physically, emotionally, financially and every other way to where they have a unique and sacred access to one another. In the peace of God He accesses all your cares – they become His – and you access all His strength, confidence and wisdom because you are interfaced, you are joined, and the flow between you is unimpeded.

Jesus was so joined to the Father that He could say, He who has seen me has seen the Father. There was no sin abridging the flow of the Father into the Son, or the Son into the Father. Do you see why peace is the key to revelation? When the flow, the access is so great between you and the Lord, because you are joined with Him in the peace of God, then the answers come, the solutions come, the genius wisdom that overcomes anything comes, and the victory follows.

Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 2 Cor 13:11 NKJV

Now, this peace, this joining is to extend to the church as well. We are to have peace with one another meaning that we are to be joined with great access to one another. When that access is greatly unimpeded – it will never be perfectly unimpeded in this life – then we start to see the great synergy of the body where the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts. We can do more together than we can do separately, but only when we are joined, only when we have access, only when we have peace with one another. My esteemed brother Henry is preaching this truth very effectively around the world. Check him out at www.onebody.life!

The question becomes – who and/or what are we joined to? To whom or to what have we given access to our hearts, our lives, all that we are? I was amazed as I tried to lead a group of ministers into a deeper walk with God recently at how they were joined, and even addicted to, their smart phones, even to the point of cheating and lying about their use of them and justifying that behavior as acceptable.

Incredible! I thought I knew these guys. I never would have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. What you are joined to has access to you! IT WORKS BOTH WAYS! If what you are joined to, connected to, is connected to hell, then by proxy you are connected to hell. This is why we have little or no fruit, why we have worries and fears, because we have ceased to be joined with the Father and have become joined with the world. Good night, and good luck!

Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things and revive me in Your way. Ps 119:37 NKJV

Who knew David had social media back then? I’m not condemning cell phones, the internet, social media, TV or anything else. I use them all! But I’m very careful about to what and to whom I give access to or seek access from. I am to give access to my brothers and sisters in Christ to the greatest degree possible. We earn access, we earn respect from one another, and I treasure those relationships. But where we’ve given access, by joining ourselves with them, to the world and by proxy to demons, or even directly to demons, then we must reject those bonds, sever them, and come clean before the Father, so that the peace of God can be restored. You can’t play both sides of the fence…

The peace of God is the confidence of God manifested, stemming out of the reality that we have chosen to join fully and unreservedly with Him, with our hearts and lives, and receiving unimpeded access to His heart and life – His strength, wisdom and righteousness. Do you see it?

Let me show you something in the word that you’ve read a million times but I think I can give you new light or fresh understanding and a greater degree of blessing from it.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Eph 1:2 NKJV

We’ve always treated this statement as a greeting – I remember with amusement how I used to write from Bible college sometimes using this as a greeting (bless God, if its good enough for the apostle Paul…)! But what I realized now is that it is to be received not as a greeting but as something far deeper – as an impartation every time that it is read. Every time you read, you are to stop and let it fill your heart. “Lord, I receive your grace! Your grace saved me, healed, and sustains me all through my day today. Thank you for your grace! I receive your peace! I join with you right now and I give You full access to all of my heart even as you give me full access to all your wisdom, knowledge, strength, confidence and righteousness. Your peace fills me. Thank You!

Grace relates to blessings, even like money. You open your heart to grace and grace in the form of money or power to acquire abundance will come. Its our bitterness or resentment – the opposite of grace – that keeps God from blessing us financially. Maybe we have joined ourselves with other bitter people and nobody has anything. Break that off and receive grace! Receive peace by joining yourself with full access to Him who embodies peace. And join yourself to your trusted, likeminded brothers and sisters, for in that peace is the power of the Church. Amen? Love you!

Remember dear ones, we must be about our Father’s business…
