NOTHING WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE

“…and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matt 17:20 NKJV

Perhaps the two greatest spiritual disciplines in the Christian life are to pray in tongues much and keep oneself full of the Word of God. Worship, praise, the renewed mind, walking in love, giving, compassion, prayer, fasting, fellowship, and self-sacrifice all flow from these two spiritual disciplines.

You are full of the Word when it spills out of your mouth, is the meditation of your soul, and the joy of your heart. You are full of the Word when cares and worries are crushed by the abundance of truth in your soul. You are full of the Word when the joy of life bubbles in your spirit in thankfulness to God.

Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory all the day. Ps 71:8 NKJV

You especially need to be full of the Word when the enemy roars with fearful temptation. With the Word and the spirit of the Lion of Judah within you, you can roar back at him, knowing that greater is He that is in you, then he that is in the world. The Word in us gives us wisdom so that we stop walking in self-inflicted trials and traumas.

With the Word in us, we tithe of our incomes (and give offerings beyond the tithe) and use practical wisdom in stewarding the rest so that we don’t fall into financial calamity. With the Word in us, we walk in great health (or regain it quickly) by stewarding our bodies with good food, exercise and rest. With the Word in us, we actively seek to love others fervently, even our enemies, so that in our thoughts and deeds, God is glorified and Jesus is made known.

You keep yourself full of the Word by reading and listening to the unadulterated Word of God.

Now, the point of this article is this – these two spiritual disciplines produce faith…faith that has limitless potential, bless God forever! Let’s consider the full verse of Matthew 17:20 in its context…

And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast him out?” 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you. Matt 17:18-20 NKJV

Jesus is talking about the miraculous application of power by the gift of faith in producing a miracle of healing. These two spiritual disciplines build up your spirit and your faith so that God can release revelation and the gift of faith to do the impossible. The reason we don’t see more miracles is very simply this – we don’t pray much in tongues, and we don’t fill ourselves with the Word.

Let us repent for our prayerlessness, and our fascination with entertainment, and get back to the disciplines that set our houses upon the Rock. When we do that, it will be time to start dreaming again…

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, Eph. 3:20-21 NKJV

It is time to remember again the impossible dreams that God has sown within your heart, and realize that now it is time for those dreams to become reality. With the Word and the Spirit, and supernatural faith, nothing will be impossible for you, dear one!

Remember, dear ones, we must be about our Father’s business…
