MORNING MEETINGS

Lightbearers MinistriesUncategorized

He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to hear as the learned. Isaiah 50:4 NKJV

I’ve observed that God works in the morning, man works in the afternoon and the devil works at night. The Lord comes in the morning when man is fresh, refreshed and unencumbered by the day’s problems. Man works in the afternoon because it the one time of day that he can get the most cooperation from his fellows. The devil comes at night when man is tired, burdened, and letting down his guard. Not much good gets accomplished after 11pm. If we would focus more on the early morning than the late evening we would accomplish significantly more.

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. Mark 1:35 NKJV

In Lightbearers we seek to make the immense practicality of revelation a daily advantage for every born again one worldwide. We state unequivocally that the Lord has specific revelation available to each born again one to make each of His promises viable and accessible. With that revelation He also releases divine faith to bring about the miracle of the promise manifested. The key to it all is to get that revelation and act upon it…

The place to find that revelation is when you meet with the Lord in the morning.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13 NKJV

Jesus said, The truth shall make you free. Now, you think about that for a minute. Let’s define freedom as the ability to choose and exercise, or demonstrate, at any time, the will of God regarding anything. In what areas of your life are you not free? In any area that you are not able to choose to demonstrate the will of God, whether it’s physical, financial, emotional or any other area, in that area of your life you are not free. Putting it another way, in that area of your life you have not received the truth that will by its very nature make you free.

Recently, a woman brought her friend to Carl and I at church. The woman had leukemia. I said to her, “Are you a believer in Jesus?” She said, yes. Then I explained to her that Jesus had become sin for her, that she might be made the righteousness of God in Him. His body was broken so that our bodies could be made whole. Her healing was already an accomplished reality, and that we would help her to position herself to receive that reality. We did, and she did, bless God forever!

What you want to do in the morning is position yourself spiritually to receive revelation from the Lord.

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 NKJV

Now, before I talk to you about the specifics of revelation, I want to talk to you about the promises of God. For many of us, our faith is ensnared by ‘the herd’ that we run with. We fellowship with many people, including fellow ministers, that unintentionally try to keep us down at their level. We match our faith with theirs because we want to ‘fit in.’ I understand this reality. I had great faith until I went to Bible school. I used to plant churches, heal many and do other works until I tried to fit in with everyone in our school. It took years afterward to recover the level of faith I had before I went in. The point is, don’t let your level of faith be governed by the level you see in others around you.

The promise of God must become personal to you.

For instance, the Lord is willing, and able, to make Philippians 4:19 a viable reality to you and I right now. Can you embrace that promise for yourself? Can you really see it being fulfilled for you? One of the great faith building ‘muscles’ in the soul is the ability of imagination. Can you imagine yourself with all of your needs met? Most people can’t, which is why you DO NOT want to link your faith with theirs. Confess the promise of God over yourself, imagine it, dwell on it, until its richness and fullness takes root in your soul. Do you see it?

Now, let’s talk about positioning yourself in the morning to receive from Him.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! Psalms 150:6 NKJV

When the first few rays of morning light break over the horizon, what happens? The birds begin to chirp and sing. What are they doing? They are praising the Lord for another day! The Lord designed the earth to be round and rotate from its poles so that a continuous, thunderous chorus of praise could be coming up before his Throne from His creation. It’s always morning somewhere. So, what should we do? Join the chorus!

Praise…

Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory all the day. Psalms 71:8 NKJV

The Holy Spirit will lead your praise into worship. This is when the real meeting begins. Remember that when Solomon had gone deep in praise and worship, that is when the Lord came and said, “Ask what I shall give you!”

Praise, worship…

Here is a secret – the Lord confides in those who fear Him. Now, what I do is bring pen and paper with me in the morning to write down what the Lord is giving me when He starts to confide in me. I ask specific questions, and I expect deep, clear, specific instructions from the Lord as He confides in me. I wouldn’t expect anything less if I worked for an earthly supervisor. How much more should I expect from the King of kings? As my friend Steve says, He is the boss and I am the hoss ( Horse – it’s American humor, dear international friends…)!

Ask specific questions about anything you like, and listen. Expect Him to speak about those things, and other things. Write your impressions and your clear revelations down precisely as you receive them, and carry them out. It’s a conversation…

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:14-15 NKJV

Praise, worship, ask and listen…

I had to learn to listen. Dr. Jack Tuls and the Holy Spirit taught me to listen. Dr. Jack and I got stuck in Niger for a week after we planted a school of ministry there. I wanted to go DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING, but it was 300 degrees outside and we were stuck in our room. Dr. Jack said, “I think I will lay on the bed and listen to God for a while.” He laid on the bed and heard God. I paced the room and heard nothing.

I used to go up on the mountain to pray. One time, as I was coming down the mountain, the Holy Spirit stopped me cold in my tracks and said, “You run up the mountain, you pray and pray and pray, then you run down the mountain. YOU NEVER STOP TO LISTEN TO ME!” I said, very sheepishly, “Ohhhh…I’m sorry!… I think I will just stand here awhile and listen.” Of course, after that He didn’t say anything…

The Lord will speak clear, specific words and instructions. My advice – don’t share these words with anyone. If they were supposed to hear, He would have told them. But I find that when I carry them out I realize that others have heard the same thing from Him as well. The Lord knows how to coordinate the body. Write down His words and instructions! Then carry them out immediately, with vigor…

Let me speak a word to those who already practice what I have taught you. Here is the word – intensify it! If you want to get more out of your physical workout, what do you do? Intensify it! If you are not hearing from God what you really need to be hearing from Him, intensify it. Get up earlier. Pray in tongues more. Every breakthrough to a new level begins with a sacrifice of the old. Jesus said, Deny your self, take up your cross, and then you are ready to follow Me.

Praise, worship, ask and listen, stay to the end!

Don’t leave until He releases you. If you do, you will miss the blessing. If you met with the president of your country, you would embarrass him if you tried to leave before he released you. I remember when Dr. Jack and I traveled to Ndele in the Central African Republic. In a formal meeting with the local imam who ran the village, we literally sat at his feet when we asked his permission to plant a school of ministry there. He graciously allowed us. After he stood to leave, we stood, thanked everyone and left. How much more respect should we show to the Lord of the universe!

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10 NKJV

What is at stake in these morning meetings? Just your life! Just your effectiveness! Jesus said, Without Me, you can do nothing. So, if you spend a day being ineffective, just remember Who you missed in the morning. It is not God’s will that we waste days, weeks, months and years of our lives in soulish, fruitless activity. All of that can be avoided if we truly connect with the King daily. Set your alarm for your morning meeting!

Remember dear ones, we must be about our Father’s business…
