A HOME FOR LIGHTBEARERS
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12 NKJV
Recently, I got this text from a dear one in Uganda…
“Did I tell you that the young boy I had told you some weeks ago who they had told us had died in Kampala, and you said, “We should pray for him to resurrect!” He indeed was reported alive in the hospital after that! God is glorious and He does great things!!!”
The Lord wants Lightbearers Ministries to continue on for generations. To that end we believe we are to build or acquire a home that can be used exclusively for that purpose. Here’s the backstory…
THE BACKSTORY
I date my ministry from Rosh HaShanah 1971, which was shortly before I got filled with the Holy Spirit in December of that year. My Jubilee year will be 2020-21. Being in the seventh season of that forty nine year cycle so many aspects of the ministry have and are coming into maturity. During this season we are also preparing for the new season – what comes after Jubilee – when, Lord willing, Lightbearers will get a lot younger under new leadership.
This year I got a prophecy…
So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time — houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions — and in the age to come, eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” Mark 10:29-31 NKJV
“I believe that verse applies to you, Kevin,” the senior man of God, a true apostle, said smilingly. “Because you have left home and family for His sake and the gospel, you will have ‘houses and lands’, and the others…” It was a quite unexpected but gratefully received word. Then, sometime later, as I was praying about the ministry, I saw a picture of a house with a big, wide porch, very friendly and welcoming, that I knew was to be a home for the ministry.
WHERE WE ARE TODAY
Don, Patty and I have agreed to begin to believe God for a down payment on a home that would be built for His glory. The location would almost assuredly be here in Oregon, although SoCal would be our second choice. This would NOT be a home for RM and myself (we already have a nice one, thank you!). The house would provide a logistical base for all the ministries of Lightbearers.
The home would be paid for primarily through very likeminded believers who would rent rooms. I’m thinking we could even have groups come in short term to learn the gifts of the Spirit – immersion classes – who would sow into the home with room and board. Rightly managed, the house would pay for itself.
Right now, we are believing God for a $35K down payment. I can happily report that we are a third of the way there in pledged monies, bless God forever!
