James Maloney said that he prayed in tongues for ‘hundreds, perhaps thousands’ of hours in preparation for the meeting. The meeting was filled with the miraculous, life-changing power of God! John G. Lake said that praying in tongues ‘made his ministry.’ Lake planted over six hundred churches, with tens of thousands of converts, and miracles that would probably make the original apostles stand back and wonder. Smith Wigglesworth was launched into an international ministry that rocked the world, when he got baptized in the Holy Spirit at the age of forty eight. We could talk of Roberts, Allen and many others who all had one great thing in common – they spoke in tongues much, even for hours daily…

I said to the pastor, “Who is that?” while looking at the bright, vibrant young lady leading worship. He said, “That’s the girl you prayed for last time who was dying of AIDS.” Healed by the power of God…

When the Church gets a hold of the great truth of praying in tongues for hours daily, the glory of God will sweep across lands like an all-encompassing flood of blessing, healing and power. Dear friends of mine who have seen their church in a healing revival for over three years now told me that it was precipitated by challenging their church to pray in tongues for an hour daily and reading the whole Bible in a year…simple, isn’t it?

The lady and her son came up front after the service. She said, “My son is deaf, and has never heard.” I laid my hands on his ears. “Deaf and mute spirit,” the Holy Spirit said. I commanded it to go. My assistant snapped his fingers behind the boy’s ears. He jumped! Soon, he was saying his name. Jesus the healer is still in business…

I have been preaching this truth for the last twenty years, ever since I began to pray in tongues for hours daily. We have proven, all over the world, that when you pray in tongues for at least an hour daily, within weeks you will see a marked increase in the blessing, glory and power of God. When you combine that application with an understanding of the gift of faith, the difference maker gift, miracles begin to multiply!

The boy’s leg faced backward, a victim of polio. The Holy Spirit said, “Turn it around.” So, I turned it around. The Holy Spirit said, “Turn his foot around.” So I turned his foot around. After a few deep knee bends, we sent him home running to his mother, bless God forever…

The devil hates speaking in tongues, which is why religious demons in otherwise solid born again ones react so violently against it.

…that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, Eph 3:16 NKJV

Why is speaking in tongues much in your private prayer life so important? One reason, out of many, is that it is the only gift of the Spirit that edifies, or builds up, your human spirit. Why is it important to edify your human spirit?

The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly. Prov 20:27 KJV

The Godhead dwells in the spirit of man in the born again one. The spirit of man is the connection point between the Spirit of God and the soul and body of man. The word for ‘glory’ in Hebrew could be translated ‘weight’ – something heavy that requires strength to be able to carry. The Spirit of God, the glory of God, comes upon your spirit to impart power. Are the lights coming on? Are you grasping what I am saying?

…He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, 1 Cor 14:4 NKJV

Your spirit can only carry the glory of God – which makes the miracles to happen – to the degree you are built up, edified, strengthened to carry that glory. The reason why revivals burn out, and people burn out, is because they are trying to do what their spirits have not been built up enough to do. You take a day off weekly, take timely vacations ( the Hebrew feasts allowed for three weeks of happy vacation time every year ), really edify your spirit daily, and you can walk in the power of God for years…

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit…Jude 20 NKJV

Daily time reading God’s Word refreshes and builds up your soul. Spending an hour or two daily speaking in tongues builds up your spirit. You can combine the two to pray in tongues out loud quietly while reading the Word silently, because they work with different aspects of your whole being. This is effective spiritual multitasking!

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”  John 7:38 NKJV

Just do it right now…begin speaking in tongues right now! Keep it up…let the rivers flow! Read the Word daily, and pray in tongues an hour a day or more. Just do it! That’s the foundation of power…
