Be Sober Be Vigilant

Lightbearers MinistriesUncategorized

Dear One,

The Lord bless you!

If you are an American citizen, you need to vote in the midterm elections, as your civic duty. Civic duty arises out of the social compact we all have as citizens of a city, county, state and nation. The social compact says that we will act in a way that benefits all involved. For instance, the social compact is what allows us to drive safely. Since the one and only legitimate purpose of government is to restrain evil, the social compact requires us to voice our opinion through voting as to the best people and means to restrain the evil that is set in the nature of all men. This is why we examine the people and the issues to seek the leading of righteousness that best restrains evil. We vote for the capability and willingness to act righteously to restrain evil, not for personalities and personal biases. Get in the game, examine the people and issues, and make your decisions. Get your friends, family and congregations involved as well. VOTE!

Love you! KRP

BE SOBER BE VIGILANT

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 NKJV

They call it the NO CONTACT movement, where parents are estranged from their sons and daughters who refuse to have contact with them. It is said that this effects one in four American families. One dear couple in our Lightbearers household gave almost their entire life savings to thieves who posed as Federal agents.  Finally, you see them everywhere…people who are addicted to their social media threads. What do these three situations all have in common? They are all the results of witchcraft. Witchcraft is simply the manipulation and control of people ultimately by spiritual means. It is the universal religion of fallen man!

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1 NKJV

I saw a YouTube documentary by the creators of Facebook years ago where they described in detail how they developed Facebook to be clinically addictive. They had learned how to manipulate human behavior to create an insatiable lust and addiction to their product. It was amazingly successful and imitated by others.  They said they didn’t know how destructive it would be, and the documentary was a form of repentance, but Facebook is still Facebook. Some of our dear friends have been deeply hurt by losing contact with their Christian sons and daughters, in direct contradiction to the commandment to honor your father and mother, that you can live a long and blessed life. Finally, sophisticated phone scams are not a joke. They are the fruit of witchcraft!

How do you overcome witchcraft?

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you…? Gal 3:1 NKJV

I’m in a basic biblical Hebrew class with a very good teacher and a class that meets online weekly. We are studying QATAL, YIQTAL and WAYYIQTAL verbs so we can do better translation in Hebrew texts. But we have a student in the class, a wonderful believer but they have a charmer spirit. That person is a professional lobbyist where they seek to influence elected officials for the causes of their sponsor. This person travels to our nations capital frequently to meet with high level elected officials and is very effective. But their professional effectiveness comes from a charmer spirit…witchcraft!

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you… Acts 1:8 NKJV

Everyone wants power. Witchcraft has become very fashionable to a whole generation of Americans (thanks J.K.! Hope you find the savior one day!) but as one who has suffered directly from its effects – I grew up with Ouija boards – I know the despair and darkness it brought, and the light, life and freedom the Gospel brings!

The first key in overcoming witchcraft is right in the verse 1 Peter 5:8 – be sober, be vigilant. In the self-defense world it’s called situational awareness. A woman was murdered on a commuter train several years ago in North Carolina, and the video was taken off the security cameras and shown on social media. The images were horrifying! The woman was engrossed with her phone until the knife plunged into her throat from behind her. Her attacker, an illegal immigrant, did not know her, or have any contact with her. He just wanted to kill someone. Her dying agonies were her first indication of a threat. The roaring lion is also a stalking lion! Situational awareness means having your eyes up, head on a swivel, mentally and spiritually evaluating everyone and everything around you constantly. Years ago, I was in San Francisco, where I grew up, with my family when the HS told me I had to treat SF as if I was in a foreign city, which made me raise my personal threat level surveillance to the highest level. Be sober, be vigilant!

“The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt.” John Philpot Curran, 1790.

He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself…1 John 5:10 NKJV

Being situationally aware does not mean just having your soul – your physical senses and intellect – vigilant and aware but also having your spirit engaged as well. Christ indwelling your spirit always gives you access to God where you can listen and receive perfect divine instruction and warning for every situation. But, like any skill, you must practice it diligently and daily. God knows everything about everything. If you don’t know something, sit down and ask God about it. My first experience with this reality, at sixteen years old, was when I wanted to send a tithe to our church and didn’t know the address. I closed my eyes, asked God to show me the address, and pictured a blank envelope. Within an instant I saw the name of the church, its street address, city and postal code, on my mental envelope. I wrote that on a real envelope, enclosed my tithe and sent it off. A few days later I received a cheerful receipt from the church secretary, thanking me for my gift. God talked to me! Stay calm and peaceful with the eyes of your inner man on ABBA in every situation. Practice this quietness and posture of listening daily!

13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13 NKJV

The incomparable value of having Christ in you enables us to truly become more than conquerors. The gifts of the Spirit, when mastered, are both offensive and defensive with absolute reliability and irresistible power. Jesus’ life was threatened many times, but they never laid a hand on Him until He allowed himself to be arrested. Twelve legions of angels were ready to assist the Son of God! Listen – preparation is one of the highest forms of faith. The natural man lives in fear because he doesn’t know what is on the other side of the wall. But you can know! Every day, in every situation, you can know what you are facing and how to overcome it if you stay vigilant. He will tell you things to come, like ten minutes from now, tomorrow, next week, next year and how to successfully deal with them.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Rev 1:8 NKJV

Revelation is received two ways: actively and passively. Passive revelation is where God speaks to you unexpectedly. You are quiet and enjoying your life when all the sudden you see a picture or hear a word, a sentence or even a speech, or perhaps you feel a leading, a word dropping in your spirit. Jesus is like my wife; He always speaks with the same voice. I could recognize RM’s voice out of ten thousand voices because I am so familiar with her. Same with Jesus! Active revelation is where you actively look to God for revelation. His presence is with you always, and nothing escapes His attention. One time I was out in the bush in Kenya, visiting a pastor and his church at Lake Baringo. A woman in a red dress came crawling into the meeting on crutches. Jesus spoke to me and said, “You have an appointment with her afterwards.” Passive revelation! I preached on the authority of the believer. Afterwards, I invite people to come up for ministry. First up, Miss Red Dress! I lay my hands on her actively asking Jesus how to help her – active revelation. I see the bones in her spine backdropped in red. B.G. Leonard used to call this ‘bone theater.’ I command the bones to come into alignment and be healed, and the red turns to green. I open my eyes and tears are streaming down her face! I say to her, “Are you ready to walk?” She smiles. I take her hands as she drops her crutches and I step back. She walks! She walked in and out on her own and the whole meeting went to Heaven that night…

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 NKJV

As I prepared this article, I noticed that 1 John has a lot to say about witchcraft and the spirit of the world. Well worth reading again! Our victory is accomplished work, but we still must live out the application of it to be the most fruitful for Him before we go to glory. With the word of God and the spirit of the world we are ready to handle anything and walk successfully through this life. Do you fear witchcraft? No! Witches fear me, and you. Reach out to them in love to get them saved. J.K., call me! Are you sober and aware of witchcraft? Absolutely. We can walk successfully with great blessing in this life as we are sober and vigilant. Amen? Love you!

Remember dear ones, we must be about our Father’s business…
