INTERCEDING FOR AMERICA

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.  Prov 29:2 NKJV

Why are all the bad guys running the world? Isn’t that supposed to be the position of the Church? Didn’t God give Adam authority over the whole world? We know he lost it but didn’t the second Adam regain it all back and give it to the Church? The World Economic Forum has a school to develop gullible brilliant morons that they can install in positions of power around the world. Macron in France and the prince of darkness, Newsom in California are graduates of the school, among many others. Does the Church even THINK about developing righteous business leaders, political leaders, leaders in the arts and influencers of culture? Failing churches, and failing Christian influence is a crisis of leadership.

When it comes to intercession for America, is it really about intercession for the land mass of the United States? Perhaps. The crisis at the border is really about property rights, as is the stealing, looting and vandalism in our cities. Let me illustrate. Suppose twenty people kicked down your front door, came into your house uninvited, and said, “We are taking over your kitchen and master bedroom, and you can pay for us staying here!” You would say, “No way, Jose! This is my house. I own it! I decide who stays here.” That would be your right as property owner, wouldn’t it? Don’t the lands of any country belong to the citizens of the country? Don’t they have the right to decide who ‘comes and goes’? It’s true it seems of every nation except the United States. If you lose property rights, there is no true ownership of anything. Think about that…

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage… Josh 1:5-6 NKJV

Is it about America’s position in the world vis-à-vis its foreign enemies, that threaten our very existence, even to the point of weaponizing viruses and unleashing them on us and the world? Perhaps. The ambitions of certain other ruling parties in other nations, or KOSMOKRATORs in supra-national organizations, would see us as an obstacle to their plans, one that must be removed. Praying for your home, your children and grandchildren is a well-established virtue. Unleash the praying gray haired geezer brigades!

A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matt 5:14 NKJV

But intercession for America goes far beyond the prayer for a physical location, and even the people of that nation. It extends to the idea of America, the idea of a truly free people governing themselves without the violence of tyranny. Political slavery has been the state of man since Nimrod. People were enslaved everywhere. But America was conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men were created equal, with inalienable rights given by God. That was a new thought in the history of the world and as such the idea of America has been a two hundred forty-seven-year experiment. This idea that has touched the hearts, and influenced the lives of untold masses of humanity for two centuries is worth interceding for, even if you aren’t a citizen of that nation. The American Declaration of Independence and the Preamble to the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, set forth the idea of America. Reagan called America a city on a hill…

Thomas Jefferson*, in writing the Declaration of Independence, said, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

The declaration was written in 1776, at the beginning of the American revolutionary war. The US Constitution was ratified in 1789. Its preamble reads:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Do you grasp the idea of America? That a moral and upright people could govern themselves in a just and equitable manner that respected the rights of all citizens. That’s worth interceding for! The idea of America was further crystallized in a speech by Abraham Lincoln at the dedication of a battlefield in the Civil War, a war fought within America to truly secure the vision of America for all its citizens**…

“Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.

It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us — that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion — that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

The ’unfinished work’ that Lincoln spoke of is the fulfillment of the American idea set forth in the Declaration and the Preamble, and is that unfinished work that we still seek to finish and perfect today, to bless our posterity and the world. That’s worth interceding for! So, interceding for America is not just for the land, or for the people, but for the idea of America, an idea that we freely extend to all the nations of the world!

Now, why do people fall into political slavery? And what can we do about it?

What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; Rom 3:9-10 NKJV

Here’s the principle – you are on the outside what you are on the inside. The nature of fallen man is the nature of a slave. Here’s another reality – you are only comfortable on the outside in the nature you are within. With Christ in our spirits we become a new creation – a truly free person. We will always seek to be free politically because we are not comfortable ANY OTHER WAY. The American revolution against the tyranny of Britain came AFTER the Great Awakening. HELLO! Unsaved man will always gravitate towards a political system that matches their inner nature. Even Israel wanted a king, a slave master! Samuel told them how he would enslave them and yet they still wanted a slave master, just like all the other nations. You gravitate towards, you are attracted to on the outside what you are on the inside.

Do you see the solution?

As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” 5 And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. Acts 9:3-5 NKJV

The whole world was impacted when this dude got born again. Its ok to vote in good people on to school boards but if you really want to change your community, go out and win someone to Christ. Its only when there is a change within that you can see a true change without. You KNOW how to do this. Over coffee or some other drink, tell your friend, “Hey bro, I don’t want to be in Heaven without your ugly face showing up!” and let the conversation develop from there. God will give you some one today if you ask Him!

…that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world… Phil 2:15 NKJV

The Church needs to lead the world. Light in a dark place is very attractive. One candle can be seen for miles. Strong men and women need to be trained up with the word of God and the gifts of the Spirit and then released into the marketplace, the halls of power and among the ‘so-called elites’ of the world to take those territories for the Kingdom of God. There are rich people who have never even met a true Christian.  They walk in a culture that few are ready to enter because they have never been trained. This must change! Frangipane said that intercession is the womb of change. So, lets intercede for the Church, for your nation and for the idea of America. Amen? Love you!

Remember dear ones, we must be about our Fathers’ business…

*Some have called Jefferson a hypocrite because he owned slaves. What they don’t realize is that he inherited those slaves, not bought them, and under current state law he was not allowed to release them until he died, which he did.

**As for the subject of reparations, my Porter ancestors fought in the American revolution, and the Union Army and Navy, and spilled their blood and treasure so the ancestors of black Americans today could be free. You tell me what I owe you, and I’ll tell you what you owe me, ok?
