REVELATION AND RELATIONSHIP

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart…Prov 3:5 KJV

Trust is confidence brought to full maturity, which has been nurtured by a string of continual successes. ‘In’ is to ‘place in’ or to ‘immerse in.’ Place or immerse your trust in the Lord. The Lord is, of course, the Lord God Almighty. Your heart is your spirit man. Figuratively, it is the seat of your personal life. Your personal life is compartmentalized, like the rooms in a house.  ‘With all your heart’ means that all the doors in the rooms of your house are open, with nothing to hide or be ashamed of.

The secret to receiving revelation, to walk by the Spirit, is to move toward that place of trusting Him with everything. Very few people get to the place where they can trust in the Lord with all of their hearts. Too many times we have locked doors when we need to have open doors…You can learn to fully trust God!

One of the amazing things that I have seen as I have studied the Word over the years is the absolute, perfectly pure love of God. Love holds no harm for others, only benefit, to seek the best available for them. Everything God has done is doing, and will do is for our benefit. Let me show you one example.

Everyone complained about the Law…but without the Law, the children of Israel would have died. God gave the Law because He knew they needed the Law to keep them alive…

And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. Deut 6:24 KJV

The consummation of the love of God the Father was in sending Jesus, to benefit us by doing for us what we could not do for ourselves. He became sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus loved us so completely that He as the High Priest offered Himself as the spotless Passover Lamb to God the Father on our behalf. When the Father accepted Jesus’ offering, we were accepted! By ourselves, we would have died in sin, and received the full just punishment for our sins. But He so loved us, that He gave up Himself for us.

You can learn to trust in that love!

The problem in trusting God is that we have had so few earthly examples of people to trust in. People follow leaders until that leader does something to break their trust. Some people have had their hearts broken so often that they don’t trust anyone anymore.

Children who are abused, or abandoned, especially by their fathers, have a hard time trusting God as their Father, once they are born again. If the earthly father has been good and faithful to his children, then it is easy for the children to transfer that trust to their heavenly Father. But if the father is absent, or an abuser, or a poor provider, then the children will struggle to allow God their Father to be present, and loving, and the One who supplies all their needs all the time. They will have too many ‘locked doors’…

I will not leave you comfortless (like orphans): I will come to you. John 14:18 KJV

Too many of God’s children act like orphans. This is why they struggle to receive the revelation that would meet their needs. They have never learned to trust God because they never had good earthly parents…both a father and a mother. An orphan is a cunning survivor who learns to live by his wits and trust himself alone, to supply his needs.

A good father and mother will provide, protect and shelter their children…in a sense to be God to their children. Children learn to hear and obey their parents. Then they learn to hear and obey God. Good role models lead to godly, Christian men and women.

The key to revelation is relationship.

If you struggle to hear and walk with God, if you have a hard time getting prayers answered and needs to be met, you may be under an orphan curse. A curse is a powerful spiritual judgment that can come from God or the enemy. An orphan curse that keeps you from knowing God as Father is from the enemy. It can also keep you from receiving the Holy Spirit. Breaking that curse is serious spiritual business, but it can be done, thanks to the blood of Jesus…

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Gal 3:13-14 KJV

Jesus became a curse for us (in our place), that we might enjoy the blessing of Abraham. Abraham knew God face to face as His friend. We are to know God intimately as His beloved children. Let me briefly explain how to break this curse of the spiritual orphan. Take your time with each of these key steps. God will help you walk through them…

1). Confess your sins and the sins of your family, as the Holy Spirit leads you. Unlock your doors completely, and bring out every hidden or shameful thing into the light.

2). Forgive from your heart all who have ever hurt you or failed you in any way, as the Holy Spirit brings them to your remembrance. Remember to forgive yourself.

3). Command that curse to come off you in the name of Jesus.

4). Ask Jesus to reveal the Father to you. He will!

Revelation that brings the promises of God to fruition comes out of relationship with God your Father, and Jesus your Lord. Learn to trust Him with all of your heart. Fearlessness and freedom come out of revelation and relationship!

Remember dear ones; we must be about our Father’s business…
