GOING DEEPER!

Lightbearers MinistriesUncategorized

Author’s note: With the article HAVE YOU LEARNED TO FEAR? ( lightbearers.injesus.com ) that came out last week, I did not define the fear of God, but rather sought to paint a picture of it for the reader. One kind respondent defined it is as ‘reverence or respect’ for God. I had heard this definition before but rejected it as being too weak. Let me explain why! Jesus said that man shall live by EVERY WORD that proceeds from the mouth of God. Now, there are many people that I reverence or respect, but I do not hang on their EVERY WORD. If a man that you reverence or respect asked you to sacrifice your children, would you do it? That is why I think the fear of God is something deeper than mere reverence or respect, truly something that only the Holy Spirit can define for you…love you! KRP

GOING DEEPER

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'” Matt 4:4 NKJV

The greatest challenge these days in teaching the Word is get people to think deeply about the Scriptures. Current Christian culture emphasizes the RHEMA word over the LOGOS word, preaching over teaching, prophecy over studying the Scripture, ‘soundbites’ over ‘long reads.’ I love the RHEMA word! I seek to engage in it daily, and rejoice to hear it. But a house is only as strong as its foundation. The RHEMA word is built on the strong wholeness of the LOGOS word in the heart of the born again one.

One of my favorite things to do is take a familiar verse of Scripture, one that I have read a thousand times, and dig into it for fresh oil, greater understanding and a new release of anointing. Do you want to do that with me?

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Eph 3:20-21 NKJV

When I want to study a verse like this, I like to ask questions. The crux for me is in the statement, ‘according to the power that works in us.’ Is this something God does in every believer evenly? Or, does He do it arbitrarily, meaning He works more in some then in others? If He does it arbitrarily, then how can I affect that, so that He works more in me? You see, I really want Him to do ‘exceeding abundantly above’ all that I can ask or think, so I have to deeply understand this phrase ‘according to the power that works in us.’ You do, too! Do you follow me?

‘Now to Him” – these two verses are what the big guys call a doxology, or a word of praise. Ephesians begins with praising God – “Blessed be the God and Father…” This great section of Ephesians begins with praise, and ends with praise.

Truth, being a living reality, cannot be separated from the love, praise and worship of Him from whom all truth flows. Whenever man tries to separate truth from its source it is always corrupted. Mathematical truth without God is corrupted. Psychological truth without God is corrupted. And so it goes! All the truth of the Word, all uncorrupted truth, is enwrapped with the praises of God!

‘that is able’ – Jesus said, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” (Matt. 9:28). Paul here says that He is able. Do you agree with the Apostle Paul? Take some time right now before you go any further to align your heart with the Apostle. This is huge! You must agree with him…

Now, the next step is to realize that what God is able to do, He is willing to do, right now.

Religion teaches that God is able but not willing…especially in your case! Anyone else…maybe…but not you! Religion always teaches that blessings are for someone else, healings are for someone else. Unbelief teaches that perhaps anyone can get saved anywhere, at any time, but not healing! Not answered prayer!

Truth teaches that God will never love you more than He does right at this moment, where you are presently, and He is ready, willing, and of course able to bring Heaven to earth for you…right now!
