A STRONG MAN’S GOSPEL

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15 NKJV

What’s your vision?

The motto of the old Anglican missionaries was “TRANSIENS ADUIVANOS – I GO OVERSEAS TO GIVE HELP.” The average lifespan of an African missionary, men women and children, before they succumbed to diseases like malaria, wild beasts or murderous natives, was three years. The Spirit of the unconquerable Son of God burned in their hearts. The work they planted in blood has flourished to uncounted millions today. Theirs was a masculine, aggressive Christianity…

One of my African students ( I’ll call him Michael ) has gone by himself to an Islamic nation and in six months has planted fifteen house churches. He raised $500 for the trip, most of which he had to spend on the air ticket. He had no contacts in the capital city. He slept two nights at the airport, until he prayed, “Lord, If You don’t open a door, I’m going to get on a plane and go home.” A few minutes later he was approached by two Muslim youths who asked him if he needed a place to stay. He stayed with them for six months rent free as he taught them English. In November, Lord willing, I will be visiting him and his house churches. I call this aggressive Christianity!

Now, you don’t have to necessarily go overseas to aggressively advance the Kingdom of God.

Have you ever noticed that almost every church has an outreach to the poor, which is commendable, but almost no one does anything on an organized basis to reach the wealthy, the powerful, the influential? If we want to transform nations ( communities, cities, states ) we have to do it from the top down as well as from the bottom up. You can learn how to make Jesus Christ relevant to anyone if you have the love and the commitment to discipline yourself to that end. Masculine, aggressive Christianity. What’s your vision?

Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.” John 4:17 NKJV

Prophetic evangelism is an application of principles we have taught for decades on being led by the Spirit as applied to witnessing. The first night I tried it my friend Carl led a small group of us out to a place the Spirit had showed in the city to find three men the Spirit had told us would be there. We found the three men exactly where the Spirit said they would be. Carl parked his truck, jumped out and quickly walked over to them, and began to prophesy to them. Just like with the woman at the well, he spoke specific details concerning their lives which, rather comically, caused them to think they were on reality TV. I saw that what I had taught for years concerning the practice of ministering healing could be applied to evangelism effectively, bless God forever!

…for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Phil 2:13 NKJV

Get quiet right now and ask God whom He have you to bless in the next two hours. Remember, He is Lord of your schedule. Ask Him for a name, a location, how you are to connect with this person, what they will be wearing, if you go to see them, and, most importantly, what they need. Ask Him for any other details He wants to give. TRUST that God is working in you! Then go find the person and do what God tells you to do.

In light of our previous comments, you might want to ask the Lord to show you an influential person, or a person in their twenties, a student or a business person. They are all out there, and they ALL need a relevant relationship with Jesus Christ. Go make it happen!

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. Isa 60:1 NKJV

My vision is to see Israel as a Messianic Jewish island in an ocean of Spirit filled Christian nations. You can make a case which says that occurred in the first century, so why not today! What’s your vision?

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” Matt 28:18-19 NKJV

…the word of the truth of the gospel, which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit… Col 1:5-6 NKJV

The word of wisdom is the Lord’s divine connection to release strategies to appropriate the vision He has given you. The word of wisdom will release the who, what, where, when and most importantly, how of accomplishing the vision He has conceived in your soul. The word of wisdom comes to the pure of heart. With a pure heart you can see clearly to observe how the Lord is working and follow Him.

And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine… Acts 5:28 NKJV

Why not fill ‘your Jerusalem’ with the gospel of Jesus Christ? If I’m a student, I want to make Jesus Christ relevant to all the other students. If I’m a businessman I want to fill my business with the influence of the Gospel ( great example: the Cathys and Chick-fil-A! – they not only have a great product and excellent reputation, but they make more money than anyone else!). If I live in a community, I want to plant a house church to bring salt and light to that community. Get aggressive! Embrace masculine Christianity. That is how you will bring life and hope to otherwise hopeless lives…

Remember dear ones, we must be about our Father’s business…
